Make a difference

Because Good Mews receives no government support, we rely on compassionate donations from people like you to help us continue to save and care for hundreds of lives every year.

Every donation big or small goes a long way to supporting our work and impacting the cats who depend on our organization. If you’re unable to donate money today, consider some of the many other ways you can contribute below!

Make a Donation

Donate Necessary Supplies

In addition to monetary donations, Good Mews relies on donated supplies to keep our cats healthy, well-fed, and comfortable. Consider sending an item from our Amazon Wishlist! Items at the top of the list are typically our most urgent needs.

Planned Giving

Planned giving allows you to support Good Mews through your will, retirement accounts, or other assets while often providing financial and tax benefits to you. To make the process simple, we partner with FreeWill, a free online planning tool that can help you create a will or explore your giving options in as little as 20 minutes.

Everybody Needs and Will

Whether you’re 18 or 108, everyone should have a will in place. People use wills to choose who gets their property, name guardians for minor children, provide a plan for pets, and more.

Through a will, many people also choose to leave a part of their estate to Good Mews and make an impact on the causes they love, for years to come.

Why Beneficiary Designations Are So Powerful

Assets not included in your will are called non-probate assets. Examples are 401(k)s, IRAs, life insurance policies, and other accounts. Designating Good Mews as a beneficiary can have a big impact and may avoid unwanted taxes for your heirs.

Pet Food Pantries

Good Mews built pet food pantries throughout Cobb County to help our neighbors keep their pets fed and at home. You can support our pantries by keeping them stocked directly or donating food to Good Mews from our pet pantries Amazon wish list!

What Are Pet Food Pantries

Good Mews pet food pantries are small, stand-alone pantries built by volunteers and placed throughout Cobb County. They’re stocked with donated food for cats and dogs and are available to anyone in the community who needs help feeding their pets.

Keep Our Pantries Stocked

All food comes from community donations. You can stock the pantries directly, drop food off at Good Mews, or donate supplies to Good Mews directly from our Amazon wish list. If you stock the pantries directly, please donate unopened, unexpired pet food in its original packaging.

Host a Pet Pantry

We’re looking to expand our pet food pantry locations throughout Cobb County, but we can only do that with the help of local businesses or property owners willing to host a pantry on-site. If you are a business or property owner in Cobb County interested in hosting a pantry, please contact us!

Other Ways to Support

There are many ways to support our pet food pantries beyond donating food. You can host a food drive at your workplace, school, or neighborhood or volunteer your time or skills to help build, stock, or maintain a pantry near you.

Pantry Locations

Our Pet Food Pantries currently provide free pet food in Smyrna, Powder Springs, and Acworth, helping families care for the pets they love during difficult times. We’re hoping to continue to build and host more pantries in the future, so please check our locations for new additions!

Sponsor a Cat in Need

For a monthly donation of $20 or more, you can become a Kitty Keeper—where you’ll sponsor a shelter cat who is facing obstacles getting adopted. Your gift will go towards the care of your sponsored cat and their shelter friends. In return, your sponsored kitty will send you quarterly photos and hand-written letters, keeping you updated on their life! Once adopted, they will share the exciting news with you and introduce you to their successor.
