There are many ways in which you can help provide financial assistance to Good Mews. Some of them don’t even require spending money! On the online donation form simply choose the donation program from the dropdown list.

We have partnered with Halo House. This is similar to the Amazon Smile program in that it costs you nothing extra while earning money for our mission. Simply bookmark this site in your browser and go to it first when shopping any of the stores on this site. Your purchase from any of the participating stores will earn us extra funds. It’s that easy!
If you have never signed up, it’s simple and only takes a few minutes! Register online at the link above and search for Good Mews.
If you have signed up before, annual renewal is required. Simply login and click re-enroll. Check the bottom of your Kroger receipts to make sure Good Mews is still assigned to your card.
Planned gifts often offer financial and tax benefits to the donor and are among the most effective ways to ensure that Good Mews can continue to save the lives of our community’s homeless and injured cats and kittens each year.
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a centralized charitable account. It allows charitably inclined individuals, families, and businesses to make tax-deductible charitable donations of cash, publicly-traded stock, and, in some cases, certain illiquid assets, to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program.
Friend or family got a birthday coming up? Are they a cat or philanthropy lover? Get them a meaningful gift that makes a difference. A Good Mews birthday e-card! Open your heart! This monthly giving program was established to provide a continual source of revenue to cover shelter expenses. Please consider joining the CATmitment Program by pledging $10 or more each month to help ensure funds will be available should any of our kitties become ill or require specialized care. For more information, contact Good Mews Accounting Department.
Many companies offer matching donations when employees make donations to their favorite charities. If your company has matching donations but Good Mews isn’t on their list, contact our Accounting Department and let them know your HR department will need to get Good Mews on the list!
Give long distance love to a special cat who needs you! For a monthly donation of $20.00 or more, you can sponsor one of our shelter residents with limited options for adoption due to medical or other reasons. This kitty will send you quarterly updates with a photograph and a personal note. Your donation will go toward the care of your “kept” kitty and its shelter friends. If your kitty should find a home, the Kitty Keeper program coordinator will contact you to pick another cat to sponsor. For more information on the program and to see the cats in the program, go to: www.goodmews.org/kitty-keeper
Good Search allows you to earn money for Good Mews every time you search the internet. Create a profile on Good Search, choose Good Mews as your charity of choice, and search away! Good Mews receives 1 penny per search. It doesn’t sound like a lot of money, but that adds up over time!
The HALO (Home at Last) Program’s goal is to find permanent, loving homes for a selected group of special needs cats. HALO cats are typically overlooked for adoption because of age, ongoing medical conditions, or behavioral issues—the most common reasons for euthanasia at traditional animal shelters. Funds designated to this program help pay for the ongoing medical care of these cats while they wait for and once they find their perfect home.
For only a $25 donation, you can honor your other family doctor—your veterinarian! We will send your vet a letter telling them that they have been honored by you, and they will receive a decorative certificate suitable for framing. On the donation form include the name of your veterinarian, the name of the clinic and the mailing address. If you would like additional information about the Honor My Vet program, contact Marketing & Communications.
iGive is a shopping website where a portion of your total is donated back to charity. Amount varies based on the retailer. Hundreds of stores included with many added every month!
In addition to cash donations, Good Mews constantly needs shelter supplies to keep our cats clean, healthy, and well-fed. We appreciate your tax-deductible donation of any of the items below. You can also order from our Amazon Wish List.
Perhaps you have a friend or family member (feline or human) who you want to honor or memorialize through a donation to Good Mews. This is a great way to recognize how special they are! All Memorial & Honorarium donations are listed on a special insert in our quarterly newsletter, “Purrs & Prattlings”. In addition, an acknowledgment card will be mailed to both you and the recipient (if applicable) of the donation*. *If you would like an acknowledgement card sent to the recipient, please include a full mailing address for the recipient on the donation form.
