Smooch first came to Good Mews from CCAS for a better chance at adoption. Smooch is a bit of a scaredy-cat at this point in his Good Mews journey (bless his heart!) Due to his anxiety, Smooch hasn't revealed much of his personality to us yet. However, based on his body language, we're optimistic that he will come out of his shell soon, as he begins to become more comfortable with all of the strange sounds and activity that accompanies living at a cat shelter. Smooch seems pretty fearful to be touched or handled right now - not showing aggression, but definitely a little stressed. Smooch does have some overgrowth of the gum tissue in his mouth (gingival hyperplasia), which doesn't require any treatment at this time but may need surgery in the future if the condition progresses, so we recommend annual dental exams.
