Max was adopted as a kitten a few years ago but never fully adjusted to his home. Anytime he got introduced to new kitties, he would get nervous so he would spray on the furniture or floor. His family tried everything they could to help him feel at ease, but nothing seemed to work. He did have his own room, where he did not display this behavior, but since he loved being with humans so much, he hated being alone, so he would cry at the door. This broke his family’s heart, seeing him so distressed. They made the difficult decision to return him so he could find a home as a single cat and get all the attention he deserved. Of course, it's hard to find peace living back at the shelter so we hope to get Max adopted into a new home as quickly as possible. He's definitely still wary of other cats here but is still a good citizen living as a group. He has the most beautiful eyes that just suck you in, which is easy since he also likes to seek out human attention. We really think he will be a great pal for someone, he just needs someone to give him a chance. He is very loving so we are hoping there is a special someone out there for him.
