Little Ms. Evie was surrendered to us when her mother fell upon hard times and could no longer care for her. She really loved this girl so it was hard to say goodbye. Little Ms. Evie was a busy and hyper gal in her last home. She loved to play and hang out with her humans. Here she does sometimes get in little scuffles or swat at other kitties, so she may do best as an only cat or prefer a cat that gives her plenty of personal space. Her favorite toys are springs! Little Ms. Evie was adopted shortly after arriving and she did well in her home. She did have occasional inappropriate defecation, though we have not seen that behavior here at the shelter. We did get an abdominal ultrasound in July 2021 and there is thickening of her small intestines which can be indicative of either Inflammatory Bowel Disease or GI Lymphoma. Right now, Little Ms. Evie is not symptomatic (no diarrhea or vomiting) so we are just monitoring the situation. We do not feel the need to put her through an invasive biopsy to confirm diagnosis at this time. We do have her on a daily steroid to keep any symptoms at bay and she may need this long-term. She is doing well on our shelter food and does not need a special diet at this time. Due to all of this, her adopter decided to return her because she did not feel she could afford any medical care Evie may need. She adjusted well when she came back and a few months later, adopted again. She loved being in a home and her adopter said she was a champ at taking her medication and that she was a loving companion. But sadly, he decided he really didn’t want a cat in his life, so she was returned again. Evie really is a loving girl that craves attention from humans and loves it when people pet her. We are hoping her next home will be her last because she doesn’t deserve to keep going to homes, getting comfortable, only to be returned at no fault of her own. So if you are looking for a loving forever friend, please consider Evie!
