about me

Leia came to us through our Community Cat Program and went to foster care instead of being returned to her colony due to a past injury to her front right leg (carpus) causing it to look bent or broken. Though this looks a bit unsettling, Leia healed this way and does not seem bothered. She gets around just fine! Leia preferred kittens to adult cats in her foster and really doesn't like dogs. However, she's doing fine with the cats in the shelter so we recommend easy going feline companions and slow introductions while Leia gains confidence -- or she will be equally fine all on her own. She loves playing with pompom balls, corrugated cardboard, scratching pads or climbing shorter cat trees. Leia does better walking on rugs or carpet so she may prefer those in her new home.

Leia is FIV+, but don’t let that scare you! FIV+ cats can live long and healthy lives. They can also live safely with FIV negative cats. FIV is spread through severe bite wounds, so it is important that your kitties get along. To learn more about FIV, please read the articles under the Advice tab.
