Esi came to us with her sister, Effia, after their owner passed away. Esi is a big gal with a big heart. She does have some arthritis in the hind portion of her back which causes her to walk stiffly at times. For this reason, she does seem a bit lazy and would much prefer to be snuggled up with her human or Esi than walking around. We do have her on a supplement for her joints and a mild pain relief medication. Ideally, her new family would also help her lose some weight with portion-controlled feeding. Esi enjoys being brushed and will plop over to make sure you give belly rubs at the same time. Esi's senior bloodwork showed some age-related changes to her kidneys. We have her on a special diet to help slow down this process. We also give fluids under her skin 1x week to keep Esi hydrated. It would be best if her adopter is able to continue this, but they also can check with their regular veterinarian on recommendation. Esi and Effia are a bonded pair, so they must be adopted together!
