Description
Appleby and her siblings Bernard and Hacker were found in the middle of Roswell Road on a very hot July day. Later they gained another sibling when Dorothy was introduced to the group.
Appleby is much more outgoing than her brothers, but less outgoing than Dorothy. She’s very much a monkey-see, monkey-do kind of kitty—anything that another cat does and gets away with, she’s going to try to do as well. When she decides she’s ready to trust you, she can be very affectionate. She’s not a lap cat, but will let you hold her and will purr softly while you do so.
She is extremely cross-eyed, like her brother Bernard. This gives her problems when trying to drink out of a still water bowl (she will splash it ALL OVER the place). She does better if she has access to a water fountain or a running faucet. She gets very excited about food, and tends to wind up with it all over her face (she’s not the most graceful girl).

Beetle is a handsome little fellow that is very affection and just wants a warm lap to curl up in. He loves people and can’t get enough attention from them. He also loves his kitten friends and enjoys running and chasing with them. Beetle is social and would do great in just about any household. He loves being at Good Mews, but he would like it even better if he had a home to call his own.

Bernard (pronounced Burr-nerd) and his siblings (Hacker and Appleby) were found in the middle of Roswell Road on a very hot July day. Later, they gained another sibling when Dorothy was introduced into the group.
Bernard has an eye condition called eyelid agenisis. This means that his eye lashes were growing directly into his eyeball. He’s had surgery to correct the condition, and the doctor is very pleased with his outcome. He also is extremely cross-eyed. This gives him problems when trying to drink out of a still water bowl (he will splash it ALL OVER the place). He does better if he has access to a water fountain or a running faucet.
Bernard likes to play with EVERYTHING. He’s very curious about things and people, but he’s cautious about people. Once you gain his trust, he’s very chatty and will tell you everything that’s going on in his world.

Description
Hacker and his siblings Bernard and Appleby were found in the middle of Roswell Road on a very hot July day. Later they gained another sibling when Dorothy was introduced to the group.
Hacker is an old soul. He was the protector of his brother and sister (since neither of them could see very well), and is still their protector to this day. When he first arrived in his foster home, his foster mom noticed the bottoms of his feet were burned from the road, but his siblings were fine—that’s how protective he is towards them. Hacker is affectionate, but it will take him a while to warm up to you. He wants to know you won’t hurt him before he’s willing to trust you.
Once he does decide he can trust you, he’s extremely talkative. He will tell you EVERYTHING and likes to comment on what you’re doing. He’s very playful—the feather on the stick was how his foster mom started earning his trust—likes to play with a variety of toys and turn everything into a game.
He will make a bit of a mess when drinking water—not because he can’t see well, but because that’s what Appleby and Bernard do. It’s quite cute. He’s also really excited about food, but not a big eater, more of a grazer. He’ll talk constantly while you get it ready, but walk away and come back several times once it’s down for him.

Jack and a few other cats were abandoned in a neighborhood cul-de-sac one rainy, cold evening. We don’t know why someone would just dump them like that, but luckily one of our volunteers lived in that neighborhood and was able to trap them all. Since we had room at the shelter, we agreed to help out.
Jack is a very nice boy, just still unsure of his situation. He has been through a lot in his young life and needs time to adjust. He is very laid back and has a sweet disposition. He enjoys being petted and likes to have his little head scratched. Jack would love to have his own home so he can relax and have no worries. So if you are looking for a calm, young kitty to join your family, please consider Jack!

Kennesaw got her name when a jogger found her on Kennesaw Mountain one morning meowing her little head off because she was hungry and scared. She is a very sweet girl that loves attention. She is very happy to be safe and will curl up in your arms and purr. She is playful and enjoys her kitty friends. Kennesaw would really love a safe, warm home where she will never have to be scared again.

Lucy and Linus were abandoned at a vet’s office. If we had to guess, perhaps their family could no longer care for them and thought it would be best to abandon them somewhere safe. But since they can not tell us the real story we will never know. They lived at the vet’s office and when space was available, Good Mews said they could come to the shelter so we could help find them a new home.
Lucy and Linus are a very bonded pair that must stay together. Lucy is a little more outgoing than Linus, and he is very dependent on her. Linus is shy and feels more comfortable when Lucy is around. They really are a darling pair. We will often see them cuddled up together, grooming each other or just napping, with their arms wrapped around each other. I don’t think there is anything sweeter than a pair of cats that love each other. If you are looking for a quiet pair, please come meet Linus and Lucy!
A generous donor has paid for Lucy and Linus’ adoption fee!
