Kitty Keeper

Give long distance love to a special cat who needs you!

Kitty Keepers support cats whose chances of adoption are slimmer than their shelter mates and affords an opportunity to those of you who desperately want to adopt a homeless cat but cannot for various reasons.  For a monthly donation of $20 or more, you will receive a quarterly update, photographs and a personal note from your “kept” kitty.

The current cats in the program are Peaches, Nutmeg,  Penguin, William,  Bud, Bellona, Ashley #1, Winston, Big Boy, Frenchie,  and Abigail!  Check out our catalog to learn more about these selected cats.

Will and a few other cats were abandoned in a neighborhood cul-de-sac one rainy, cold evening. We don’t know why someone would just dump them like that, but luckily one of our volunteers lived in that neighborhood and was able to trap them all. Since we had room at the shelter, we agreed to help out.

When I first met Will he just sat and looked at me and didn’t seem too interested in meeting me. I said hi to him but he just shrugged me off. I think he was still a little angry about being dumped outside in the rain, and then brought to a strange place. I gave him about a week and went back to visit with him. Well, his tune sure changed and he was ready to be my friend! When I was petting him, he rested his head on my shoulder and purred. It was so sweet! He danced around, excited to have company and he was so loving.  Will needs a little bit of time to adjust to new situations, but once he does, he is a fabulous cat! So if you are looking for a sweet, loving kitty to join your family, come by and meet Will.
