Good-Bye Hondo

With a heavy heart, we had to say good-bye to our friend, Hondo, Thursday. Hondo touched everyone’s lives at Good Mews and we don’t think anyone will ever forget him.
Hondo came to Good Mews in 2004 when he was rescued from a fraternity house.  He was adopted, but later returned when his family divorced.  Hondo was with us for a while and everyone loved him. He was a great presence at the shelter and was a volunteer favorite. However, he was famous for one thing; he would sometimes bite people! But because it was Hondo, he was quickly forgiven.  A long time volunteer, Lauren, always had a special fondness for Hondo, so she adopted him in October. Hondo enjoyed his new home and slept with Lauren every night. Sadly, Hondo suddenly became sick. His wonderful vet did all she could for him, but Hondo was not getting better. The decision was made to humanely let our friend go.

Good-bye, Buddy. We all love you and you will be greatly missed. See you at the Bridge….
