We are excited to announce our new program, Golden Companions!

Big Boy, born May 1999
Everyone knows that senior pets are harder to adopt than their kitten or young adult friends. Research has shown the medical benefits of owning a pet, especially as we get older. They lower stress, lower blood pressure and make us happier. Senior felines make a great match for senior humans!
To help encourage these adoptions we are offering Golden Companions! If you are 65 or older and you choose one of our senior felines, the adoption fee will be $65.00.

Faith, born March 2001
Enjoy this chart to see how we can compare our cat’s age in human years. A senior cat of 7 years of age is just 44 in human years which is still very young!

Hacker and his siblings Bernard and Appleby were found in the middle of Roswell Road on a very hot July day. Later they gained another sibling when Dorothy was introduced to the group.
Hacker is an old soul. He was the protector of his brother and sister (since neither of them could see very well), and is still their protector to this day. When he first arrived in his foster home, his foster mom noticed the bottoms of his feet were burned from the road, but his siblings were fine—that’s how protective he is towards them. Hacker is affectionate, but it will take him a while to warm up to you. He wants to know you won’t hurt him before he’s willing to trust you.
Once he does decide he can trust you, he’s extremely talkative. He will tell you EVERYTHING and likes to comment on what you’re doing. He’s very playful—the feather on the stick was how his foster mom started earning his trust—likes to play with a variety of toys and turn everything into a game.
He will make a bit of a mess when drinking water—not because he can’t see well, but because that’s what Appleby and Bernard do. It’s quite cute. He’s also really excited about food, but not a big eater, more of a grazer. He’ll talk constantly while you get it ready, but walk away and come back several times once it’s down for him.
