1988-2008... 20 years of purrs... 20 years of purpose...
Update: all of these kittens have now been adopted!
This year kitten season in Atlanta never ended and unfortunately that means more and more crowded shelters and more and more homeless pets.
Please remember to spay and neuter your pets and help to alleviate unnecessary euthanasia.
Our first baby foster kittens of the fall/winter season have just arrived. They were found in the country in a community called Serenbe where there are several barn kitties. All the kitties have been spayed/neutered but this momma was never able to be catched. Tragically, the momma kitty got hit by a car which left these four kittens on their own. A resident of Serenbe bottle fed for 2 weeks before the kittens were able to come into foster care with GM.
At about 6 weeks old they are too young to be altered and in the shelter so they are in a foster home.

Hi There! I’m Brendan and I was rescued from a hoarder who had too many cats. Although quite shy and upset when I first got to Good Mews, I now seek out attention and follow visitors around. If you really want to hear me purr, just offer me my favorite treats! I’ve been told I’m a very handsome boy with giant fluffy paws! And, it’s important for you to know that I love the other cats. I am seeking a quiet home with my friend Lainie where I can continue my better life. I will take some time to acclimate in your home because new places make me very nervous, but if you are patient, I will become the sweet boy you see in the shelter!
Carrie Murtha, a Good Mews volunteer has started her own line of art work called the Snip Pets!
What exactly IS a SnipPet?
It’s simple. A snip~pet is…
1-PET art created with SNIPS of paper, paint and clay.
2-a PET that has been spayed or neutered...the kindest SNIP of all!
Make sure YOUR pet is a SnipPet...it is the only way to stop pet overpopulation and the consequent euthansasia of millions of healthy, adoptable cats and dogs EVERY year!
From Carrie: “I will donate 10% of any art sales generated by you directly to your Spay/Neuter efforts. I always ask each customer how/where they heard about the SnipPets, so that i can easily track what group to donate to. In addition, I am developing products featuring my SnipPet mascots, Stuart and Sunny SnipPet, and 100% of the profits from those items will go toward your spay/neuter efforts.
In addition, 10% of the selling price will go to the best cat shelter in the world, Good Mews. I will donate that percentage to their spaying and neutering efforts.”
Please check out her wonderful products by clicking Snip~Pets. Also check out more about her artwork and her spay neuter efforts in helping our furry friends at Snip-Pet-Blog.
Another great holiday gift idea for you and your friends and an added bonus of helping the Good Mews kitties!
