1988-2008... 20 years of purrs... 20 years of purpose...
Each month we will be doing a spot light on one of our “Extra Special Kitties”.
Being a no-kill shelter differentiates us from other traditional shelters. Being a no-kill means we have kitties with “Extra Special” needs that would otherwise not make it in a traditional shelter.
Our featured kitty for November is a sweet kitty indeed and her name is Grace.
Grace came to us from animal control with brand new babies so immediately went into foster care. Her babies have all been adopted but Grace is still awaiting her forever home. Grace is an amazing cat who will keep you laughing with all of her antics. She has a lot of energy, loves to play, is very affectionate and talkative. Grace is not too fond of other kitties and would definitely do best in a home as an only cat.
Grace also has some special needs when it comes to her eyes. She was born with a condition which causes her eyelashes to touch the inside of her eyes. Ouch! She has had two surgeries to correct the problem and is currently doing great on a regimen of eye ointment once a day.
There is a possibility that she will need more eye surgery in the future to remove the very small eyelashes that may grow back and irritate her eyes.

Hey There! My name is Biloxi. Can you guess where I’m from? Yes, I’m a bit of a shy fella, but who can blame me after my Hurricane Katrina experience? Spend some time with me and you’ll find that I have a playful side and enjoy chasing balls, furry mice, and feather toys. I’ve had enough drama in my life, so I’m looking for a quiet home where I can explore and make friends at my own pace. My friends at Good Mews tell me that I’m a member of the kitty keeper program! If you’d like to sponsor me until I find a permanent home, that would be wonderful!
Carrie Murtha, a Good Mews volunteer has started her own line of art work called the Snip Pets!
What exactly IS a SnipPet?
It’s simple. A snip~pet is…
1-PET art created with SNIPS of paper, paint and clay.
2-a PET that has been spayed or neutered...the kindest SNIP of all!
Make sure YOUR pet is a SnipPet...it is the only way to stop pet overpopulation and the consequent euthansasia of millions of healthy, adoptable cats and dogs EVERY year!
From Carrie: “I will donate 10% of any art sales generated by you directly to your Spay/Neuter efforts. I always ask each customer how/where they heard about the SnipPets, so that i can easily track what group to donate to. In addition, I am developing products featuring my SnipPet mascots, Stuart and Sunny SnipPet, and 100% of the profits from those items will go toward your spay/neuter efforts.
In addition, 10% of the selling price will go to the best cat shelter in the world, Good Mews. I will donate that percentage to their spaying and neutering efforts.”
Please check out her wonderful products by clicking Snip~Pets. Also check out more about her artwork and her spay neuter efforts in helping our furry friends at Snip-Pet-Blog.
Another great holiday gift idea for you and your friends and an added bonus of helping the Good Mews kitties!
