Autumn's Happy Ending Story

Dear Good Mews,

We just wanted to let you know that Autumn is still doing great. We adopted her back in July 2002 and renamed her Joya. She is the perfect cat and although she has gotten a bit older and more laid back she still enjoys playing with feathers and strings. We love her very much and couldn’t have made a better choice for our family!!

We moved to Switzerland in 2005 and that was very stressful for her. Especially the long distance flight. We felt so sorry that we had to put her through all that, but luckily she adjusted pretty quickly to her new life here in Europe.

Thanks for all the great work you are doing for your cats!!

Love,

Conny Baumgartner

Oliver and Nelson's Happy Ending Story

Dear Good Mews
I thought we would send you some pictures of Oliver and Nelson.  We adopted theses brothers back in January of 2005.  Since then Oliver has had a few health problems, in late Fall of 2005 we had Olivers eye removed at the Animal Eye Specialist due to tumors and Dr. King was great.  In late Fall of 2006 we discovered Oliver has CRF and he has a level 2 Heart Murmur despite all of these health issues he remains the sweetest, lovable , adorable kitty on the face of this planet.  Nelson has remained the best brother ever to Oliver and gives him lots of love and baths.  Nelson is quite the funny one and likes to play a lot.  We love these guys and Oliver is doing fantastic.  So we have a few pictures to send.

Thank You

Kendra and Eric

Matthew and Mark, a.k.a. Bowie and Iggy's Happy Ending Story

It hardly seems a year since we picked up our babies at the Good Mews Shelter.  Matthew and Mark (their given names) were part of a litter of 4 beautiful kittens.  Although Lyle’s a musician and home most of the day, we felt that one cat would still be lonely. Iggy and Bowie (as they are now called) are brothers that have two very distinct personalities. While Iggy is very inquisitive and fearful, Bowie would rather sit and watch his brother’s shenanigans, is on the timid side and loves to be rocked like a baby.  But, just like their musician name-sakes, they can be very raucous when they collaborate which brings us hours of amusement. We can’t thank the folks at Good Mews enough for introducing so much love and joy into our home.

Pandora

Good_Mews

Pandora is a beautiful, purebred Maine Coon.  She had a rough beginning, coming from a breeder/hoarder situation, and eventually found her way to Good Mews with some of her housemates.  All the cats were shy and hesitant at first, and had to learn how to be cats!  Pandora is no exception, and has recently discovered her “inner kitten”.  Although still learning to trust humans, she adores toys and likes other cats.  Pandora’s fellow Maine Coons have found their forever homes, and Pandora is hoping hers will come along soon, too!

Snip Pets!

Carrie Murtha, a Good Mews volunteer has started her own line of art work called the Snip Pets!
Good_Mews

What exactly IS a SnipPet?

It’s simple. A snip~pet is…
1-PET art created with SNIPS of paper, paint and clay.
2-a PET that has been spayed or neutered...the kindest SNIP of all!

Make sure YOUR pet is a SnipPet...it is the only way to stop pet overpopulation and the consequent euthansasia of millions of healthy, adoptable cats and dogs EVERY year!

From Carrie: “I will donate 10% of any art sales generated by you directly to your Spay/Neuter efforts. I always ask each customer how/where they heard about the SnipPets, so that i can easily track what group to donate to.  In addition, I am developing products featuring my SnipPet mascots, Stuart and Sunny SnipPet, and 100% of the profits from those items will go toward your spay/neuter efforts.

In addition, 10% of the selling price will go to the best cat shelter in the world, Good Mews. I will donate that percentage to their spaying and neutering efforts.”
