Mopsy and Bogart's Happy Ending Story
Where do I start?
Hours were spent on the Good Mews website, viewing and reviewing the various adoption choices; so many to choose from. Well, on 21st June, d-day, we were up early, and headed to Good Mews to adopt Mopsy (now called Sophie) and Bogart.
I knew going to Good Mews would cause heartache and pain. Why? Because we knew there would be so many choices, in addition to the two we were attached to, and had not even met yet. Honestly, how can one really choose? I believe, and this is just my belief, people choose animals based on their own personalities. Sophie is so fitting to Christie, showing affection, and love 24/7. Now, Bogart is such a clone to Ivan. He’s observant, laid back, and just plain ole’ cool! How weird is that, that we choose kittens so alike to ourselves?
The whole process was a breeze, an experience I would recommend to anyone…
In the week anticipating the kitten(s) getting here, we bought a decent camera. Believe me, it’s constantly getting used.

...you will see a photo of the ‘happy ending times 2’. Sophie and Bogart (respectively), are doing VERY well. They have even been to their first doctors visit. Just a check-up/check in to make sure all is/was well. And, we’re glad to say, it is.
So, all this to say, thanks for the service of adoption that you offer.

Baltamore a.k.a. Bella's Happy Ending Story
Bella (Baltimore) has been doing so well! She gets braver every day. These are a few pictures taken over the last year and few months. She has become quite the lap cat and loves to cuddle with me, familiar people, and, expecially, my dog, Roxie. I thought this would be a good way to show you how she is doing. Harold's Happy Ending Story
Enjoy this update on Harold’s new life. For those of you who don’t know, his life previous to Good Mews was living locked up in a filthy pen in the backyard with other cats, very little food and horrific conditions.
Read on to hear about his new wonderful beginning!
I wanted to give you an update on a cat I adopted in June 2007. His name is Harold.
Harold is a non-alpha cat. And, as expected, he was quite shy upon arrival. When he first arrived he hid behind the washer and dryer for a few days. He didn’t even come out to eat during that time. Eventually, he ventured out while I was sleeping at night to explore his surroundings and to get a bite to eat. However, by the next morning, he’d be back in hiding. He then changed his mind and started hiding behind a toilet.
After he changed hiding locales, he eventually decided to come out over to the edge of the bathroom floor to let me pet him. However, he would not come down the hallway out to the great room in the daytime for well over a week. He seemed afraid of any and all activity in that area of the house. I just made regular visits to him in the bathroom while he adjusted.
Then, one day, he decided things were okay and ventured outside his comfort zone. Since then, he’s all over the house. He likes to run up and down the hallway as fast as he can following me around the house trying to be the first back to the room he thinks I’m going to. He’s a real mooch soaking up all the brushing and petting he can get. He’ll lounge all over you if you let him.
Harold is still tentative with strangers and will oftentimes go into hiding, but if he sees you’ll brush him you can win him over pretty easily.
We did have a round of health issues last December/January with several trips to the vet. What started with a stinky mouth turned into having about 8 more teeth pulled. He has an allergy to plaque in his mouth. Some condition with stomatitis in it. He also had a bacterial infection in his mouth on top of the other condition which required antibiotics. He now only has 4 remaining teeth – his canines. Hopefully he’ll hold onto those. Hasn’t stopped him from eating the dry food though. He really doesn’t like wet food. In fact, when he ate wet food after having the teeth pulled, he developed urinary crystals. Then, we had to put him on an Rx diet which luckily cleared that up. Since that time, he’s been A-okay. Just had his annual checkup. All is well!
After I put my last cat to sleep, I didn’t really expect to find another cat of similar quality. However, I’m happy to say that I have found an exceptional cat. He’s definitely in his forever home no matter where I go in life.
