Nina and Shadow have never known the wonderful feeling of being loved. They have never experienced the simple things in life like looking out the window, watching birds, or basking in a sunny spot in the dining room. They never knew what a warm cozy bed felt like. Nina and Shadow had lived their whole lives in a carrier in a garage. They were let out of their carrier once a day, for a short period of time to run around and eat and drink. Then they spent the rest of their day sitting alone, in a carrier. That is no way for a cat to live. When we were contacted we were so sad about the way they were living, we wanted to give them a chance to find a loving home and be treated like a member of the family.
Nina and Shadow are extremely shy right now. The volunteers at Good Mews are prepared to spend time with them and help them feel more comfortable. They will require a very patient adopter who will be willing to work with them and let them adjust at their own pace.  A lot of people are not willing to adopt a shy cat because they think they will hide and run from them. But with some time and patience, shy cats will come around. And the day they jump in your lap and purr with happiness, you will know everything you went through together was worth it.
