Carson and his friends were rescued from Paulding County Animal Control. When we heard they were closing due to renovations and all the animals had to be out of the shelter within 2 weeks or they would be euthanized, we knew we had to help! We rushed right over there and pulled as many cats as we were able. We sure wish we could have helped them all, but Good Mews can only have so many cats in the shelter at one time. But the kitties we did get are all wonderful, beautiful babies that we hope to find new homes for soon! Since they came from animal control we do not know their history. They could have had a loving home at one time and lost it for some reason and are now wondering why in the world they are being bounced around from shelter to shelter! Or they could have been a stray cat living on the street wondering where their next meal would come from. But what we do know is that all of these kitties are now safe with us and will be well taken care of and loved until we can find them a new home and once we do, they will never have to worry about losing it again, and ending up back in a shelter or on the streets.

Carson looks a little rough right now and if I had to guess, I bet he has never had a loving home before and has lived his whole life outside, taking care of himself. Imagine living your whole life, all alone, with no one to love you or to take care of you. I am sure Carson was very lonely. Well, all of that is about to change! Carson is no longer alone, because he now has us. We are going to take good care of him and tell him every day that he is loved. And I bet Carson will soon start to look and feel so much better. I know there is a beautiful boy in there just waiting to emerge! And then the next wonderful thing that will happen to him will be his first forever home where he will have a loving family to call his own! And I know then Carson will feel like he is on top of the world!

Update-Carson is starting to look and feel so much better. This fellow is just so cute and sweet. Poor Carson had terrible ear mites when he lived outside and it hurt him so bad, he kept clawing at his ear and mangled it! So now his ear is really small. But that is OK..it just makes him look even more handsome in my eyes. He is now free of ear mites and I know he is so happy to be out of pain! Carson loves people and will quickly crawl up into a lap to snuggle and take a nap. He enjoys his beautiful gray fur to be brushed and it relaxes him so much it puts him to sleep! Carson just can’t wait to find a special home to call his own. He would do great as an only cat, that way he can get all the attention, or he would do fine in a home with one or two other laid back cats. Please come meet this special boy soon!
