Description
Ricky is a very energetic boy who likes to stay busy. His lanky body and his ear that points to one side are indicative of his mischievious personality! He and his brothers, Angelo and Sergio, came to Good Mews as kittens over 3 years ago. They are all such wonderful cats and we at Good Mews love them, but because they are all black, instead of lots of pretty colors, they are often overlooked on adoption days. We hope someone who wants a playful, lively cat will come and meet Ricky soon! He would be happiest in a home with another young feline friend to play with. Perhaps one of his brothers, Angelo or Sergio could go home with him!

Sammy, Penny, Mark and Rose came to us from a heartbreaking situation. They lived in North Georgia with a couple that had many animals that they loved very much. The man is disabled and his wife just recently lost her job. Because they had so many animals and very little income coming in, they were unable to provide adequate food and shelter for them. We heard about the situation and offered to help out. Hopefully we will be able to find these sweet babies a new home soon.
Rose is a gorgeous girl that is also one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet. She is a big talker and has a lot to say! I bet she is saying “Hey, take me home! I am fun girl! You will love me and we will be best pals forever!” Come meet Rose soon. I bet she won’t be here long!

Poor Ruby’s life did not start out pleasantly! Her and her siblings were born outside and once they were old enough to run around, a not so nice person decided to shoot at them with a BB gun!! Imagine how scared they were! Thank goodness a volunteer found out what was going on and rescued them and Good Mews fortunately had space to take them in. When they first got here, they wanted nothing to do with us..and I sure don’t blame them! I am sure they had nightmares every time they closed their little eyes.
But with some time and patience, they realized not all people were their enemies..that they can be loved..and we sure love them both!
Ruby is a darling girl that has really come along way. She used to be real hissy, but who can blame her? But now that she has learned to trust people, she has become very outgoing. Ruby loves to play with feather toys and is always the first one around when someone brings a toy out to play. Another one of her favorite things to do is sit and look out the window. Guests often comment that they always see her sitting on the bench, looking out the window. So Ruby would love to have a home with plenty of windows to look out of, so she can watch the birds and squirrels. Ruby gets along great with other cats, so she would make a wonderful addition to most families!

Sadie is a sweet girl that is very playful. She is also very affectionate and loves to curl up in your lap for pets and some loving. One of her favorite things to do is to look out the window and watch the birds.
Sadie is very grateful to be safe and warm right now because she came from a scary place. Someone found her in Red Top Mountain, living in a cage made out of chicken wire. She lived there for 3 months before someone was able to take her in. The person that rescued her was unable to keep her so she asked Good Mews if we could find Sadie a family love her. We felt so sad about the situation Sadie came from, we said we would be happy to find this lovely girl a home!

Samantha and her sister Louise were adopted from a shelter when they were kittens and a year later their person moved and left them behind. They stayed on the balcony waiting for their person to return for them, but she never did! Neighbors felt sorry for them so they fed them and 9 long years went by. When a Good Mews volunteer living in the area found out about it she was able to bring them to the shelter when space was available.
Louise was very forgiving of her situation and loved people; Samantha, not so much! She was very unhappy that her person up and left her and decided humans were not her thing! We tried to tell her not all humans are alike, but she is still thinking on this.
Louise had a lot of medical issues and although Good Mews did everything we could for her, she is now at the Rainbow Bridge .
We are proud to say Samantha has come a long way from where she was when she first came to the shelter. She is starting to gain our trust and realizing we are not all that bad. She still has a little ways to go, but in time, I know she will come around.
I don’t think Samantha will ever be a lap cat (but hey, you never know!), but if you are just looking for someone to share your home with and have someone to talk to and listen to how your day went, Samantha is your girl.. She is a great listener and would love to hear your problems and I bet when you are done telling her about them, you will feel a lot better!
Samantha also enjoys the company of other cats, so she would like to be in a home with some feline friends!

Sammy is a very sweet boy but still a little scared right now. He is confused as to why he lost his home and is now somewhere he has never been before. But I am sure once he starts meeting some new friends he will become more comfortable. Sammy would love to go home with one of his friends he came in with. It would probably make it easier for him when he transitions to his new home. Come meet his cute boy soon!

Sampson was rescued from a hoarding situation, where he had to compete for human attention. He has adjusted well to his temporary home at Good Mews, and can be seen out front spending time with people or the other cats. He does love attention!
Sampson is a beautiful orange kitty with a big bushy tail and exotic-looking stripes! He is very playful and could be amused with a feather toy or laser pointer for hours! He is such a fun cat. Sampson also loves other cats so he is seeking a home where he can have some pals to play with.
Sampson does tend to get nervous in new environments and it may take him a little time to adjust in a new home, but once he does, he is an awesome cat!

Theo used to live at the Cat Clinic of Roswell then he moved to Good Mews. He is what we call our “shelter mascot”. Theo is a very personable cat and loves people and lots of attention! If you are not giving Theo the attention he deserves, he will be sure to let you know! He will stand in front of you and give you a big “MEOW”!
He is also the only cat we know that loves to wear clothes! So if you adopt Theo, you also have to adopt his wardrobe! He loves to wear special collars, ties, bandanas, and sometimes shirts.
Theo enjoys the company of other cats and would do well in a home with them, but he would also do fine as an only cat, that way he will get all of the attention. Because Theo requires a lot of attention, we think it would be best if he was in a home without small children. Come by and meet this charming boy soon. Theo is one of a kind and we think you will agree!
As always, we will be open every Saturday from 10am-4pm.
Starting in 2010, we will be open the 2nd ,3rd, and 4th Sunday of the month from 1pm-4pm.
