Description

Lacy is a quiet little girl that has had some pretty bad luck. She was left behind at an apartment complex and the tenants saw that she had an injured leg. Because she couldn’t move very fast, the other cats were beating her up! This had to be so scary for Lacy..she is just a tiny girl! Someone contacted us and there was no way we were going to say we didn’t have room for Lacy. We wanted to give this sweet girl a chance to heal and find a loving family.
Lacy was probably hit by a car and her leg has mended on it’s own. She will probably always have a slight limp, so therefore she will need to take Dasuquin, which is a joint health supplement.
Lacy is a wonderful kitty that is hoping her new family will walk through the door soon. All she wants is to feel safe and for someone to love her.

Description

Lewis and a few other cats were abandoned in a neighborhood cul-de-sac one rainy, cold evening. We don’t know why someone would just dump them like that, but luckily one of our volunteers lived in that neighborhood and was able to trap them all. Since we had room at the shelter, we agreed to help out.
When I first met Lewis he was very afraid and was hiding behind a cat bed. I pet him, but I could tell he just wanted to disappear. It was very sad seeing Lewis so nervous. I kept going back to him and petting and talking to him, but he wasn’t very interested. About a week later I walked into the shelter and a super friendly black and white kitty ran up to me, meowing and asking for attention. I had no idea who this new friendly guy was so I had to ask. I was told it was Lewis! I couldn’t believe how much he had blossomed in just one week. He was so cute, just running after me and jumping up on cat trees so I could pet him. I think Lewis was just nervous about all the changes he went through and now that he knows he is safe and loved, his wonderful personality has emerged. Lewis is a great, outgoing kitty and will surely bring a lot of fun to someone’s life

Description

Lexi and several other cats were rescued from a situation that started off with good intentions, but then quickly got out of hand. Someone rescued cats that were about to be euthanized at animal control but then it got to be way many cats for 1 person to care for. The situation was brought to our attention and with the help of other rescues, all of the cats were placed. We don’t know the history of these cats. Most probably had a home at some point and ended up at animal control. They are all very loving kitties that are just so happy to be alive and on their way to a new home.

This beautiful girl is constantly in motion! She has a lot of energy and has a great time playing with her toys and chasing a laser light. She is OK with being picked up and she loves to sit on the couch with her favorite person. Lexi is still young and has a lot of “kitten” in her. Plus, she is a typical, fun-loving torti!
Lexi is in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please email (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Description

Lucy and Linus were abandoned at a vet’s office. If we had to guess, perhaps their family could no longer care for them and thought it would be best to abandon them somewhere safe. But since they can not tell us the real story we will never know. They lived at the vet’s office and when space was available, Good Mews said they could come to the shelter so we could help find them a new home.

Lucy and Linus are a very bonded pair that must stay together. Lucy is a little more outgoing than Linus, and he is very dependent on her. Linus is shy and feels more comfortable when Lucy is around. They really are a darling pair. We will often see them cuddled up together, grooming each other or just napping, with their arms wrapped around each other. I don’t think there is anything sweeter than a pair of cats that love each other. If you are looking for a quiet pair, please come meet Linus and Lucy!

A generous donor has paid for Lucy and Linus’ adoption fee!

Description

Lucy and her siblings were born in a volunteer’s home, to a pregnant mom rescued by Good Mews.  Her brother and sister have been adopted, but Lucy is still at the shelter.  Thanks to her extended time in the shelter, she has become very well-socialized.  She is sweet, calm, and affectionate. She loves to jump in people’s laps as soon as they sit down. She also has an independent side.  She is a beautiful girl with incredibly soft fur, and would make a wonderful addition to anyone’s home. Please come meet Lucy soon. She would love to find her forever home!

Description

Lynx and some of her pals were brought to the shelter in a sealed cardboard box. There was no way we were going to turn them away, knowing their fate wasn’t going to be a happy one.
Apparently they were all left behind in their home and when some contractors showed up to work on the house, they found the abandoned kitties.
Lynx has not let this situation faze her one bit. She is a very chatty little girl that demands attention. She has a wonderful personality and will defiantly keep her new family busy. She would love to have a home where she can be the center of attention.  Not only is Lynx very personable, she also has a very beautiful coat.
She came in with her pal, Rudy and they would make a great pair if you are looking for two, young active cats.

MVP
I'm a savvy cat who knows the score. I'm pretty unflappable, too. I don't mind entertaining myself, but a human companion at the other end of the couch and a nice scratch behind the ears always make my day. If you're looking for a resourceful addition to your team, think about signing this Most Valuable Pussycat.

Party Animal
I'm a cat on a mission: PARTY! I love to play and explore and test my limits. I'd love to play with you, but I can make a toy out of anything: pencils, post-it notes, potatoes. If you're looking for some laughs and someone to liven up the party, think about inviting me.

Leader of the Band
I'm a cat who does everything in a big way. I not only like to be in the middle of things--I like to lead the parade. I'm an adventurous cat, but I'll still make plenty of time to show you my affectionate side. I'm the demonstrative type, you might say. Want a cat who's brimming with confidence? That's me.

The Executive
I have to say, I'm a busy cat. First, I've got to check out what's happening out the window. Next, I'll see if any closets or cupboards need looking into. And then there are my naps--can't be late for those. I can fit a little socializing into my schedule. Shall we plan on breakfast and dinner? I hope you like kibbles.

Sidekick
Like all sidekicks, I'm just plain good company. I like attention, and I also like my solitude. I don't go looking for trouble, but I'm no scaredy-cat, either. If you are looking for a steady companion to travel with you on the road of life, look no further.

Personal Assistant
You're working on the computer? Let me press the keys. Reading the paper? I'll hold the pages down for you. Watching TV? I'll just plop in your lap so you can pet me. I love an orderly household, don't you? I'll help you with all your chores, and I'll help you relax when we're done. You'll wonder how you ever managed without me.

Love Bug

Private Investigator
I'm working undercover to keep an eye on you and your household. You may not even know you're under surveillance. I can vanish into thin air if anyone or anything interferes with my investigation. If you need a cat who knows how to stay out of trouble and will always keep your secrets, I just might take your case.

Secret Admirer
When it comes to relationships, I'm very level-headed. I don't leap in paws first, if you know what I mean. But give me a little time, and then I'll shower you with purrs, head-butts, and plenty of lap time. In the meantime, you may not see a lot of me, but I'll be thinking a lot of you!

Love Bug
Do you seek affection? I do! If you also like petting, purrs, and paws kneading your lap, I think we might have a LOT in common. I'm looking for "someone who enjoys quiet times and togetherness." Could that someone be you?

Good_Mews

Good Mews found out about a situation where someone had over 50 cats living in stacked cages in a dark shed. They had one light bulb for light. Some of these kitties had been living in these conditions for about 3 years. Obviously this is no way for any living being to live. We were able to assist with some of the cats, and a couple other groups were also able to help.
Most of these cats have never been socialized and only knew one person: the person who kept them in the cages. They lived in fear and always wondered what was going to happen to them.
Dooley and Misfit lived together in a cage and it is obvious they are brothers. They both have adorable chubby faces. They are still a little nervous about what is going on, but I can tell these boys will learn to trust much quicker than some of their friends. They are fine with being petted and held and Misfit will roll over for belly-rubs. They are going to need a patient adopter until they get used to living like a normal cat, but I have no doubt they will do just great.
Dooley and Misfit must be adopted together.
