Description

Lillybelle lost her home when her guardian was financially unable to care for her anymore. She thought it would be best if she was able to go to a new home where she could be cared for and she had her best interest at heart. She is a beautiful sweet girl that is longing for a new home to call her own. Her guardian said she would be shy at first but so far she has wanted nothing but attention from the volunteers. She has quickly become a favorite of ours! She is very loving and adorable. She also has a playful side to her. I think Lillybelle will make a very lovely companion. She would do fine with another cat, or do great as an only cat. Please come meet her soon. Anyone would be truly lucky to have this girl in their life.

Description

Lucy and Linus were abandoned at a vet’s office. If we had to guess, perhaps their family could no longer care for them and thought it would be best to abandon them somewhere safe. But since they can not tell us the real story we will never know. They lived at the vet’s office and when space was available, Good Mews said they could come to the shelter so we could help find them a new home.

Lucy and Linus are a very bonded pair that must stay together. Lucy is a little more outgoing than Linus, and he is very dependent on her. Linus is shy and feels more comfortable when Lucy is around. They really are a darling pair. We will often see them cuddled up together, grooming each other or just napping, with their arms wrapped around each other. I don’t think there is anything sweeter than a pair of cats that love each other. If you are looking for a quiet pair, please come meet Linus and Lucy!

Description

Loretta is a very sweet girl that was rescued from Animal Control when she was pregnant. She went into foster care to have her babies and she was a wonderful mother. Now that her babies are old enough to come to the shelter and find their forever homes, Loretta is ready to find her forever home as well!
Loretta is an affectionate kitty, but is also a bit independent. She enjoys spending time with her favorite person and loves kisses and will give you head butts right back, but she also enjoys her quiet time to spend alone and nap. She would make a wonderful only cat if you are looking for a low-maintenance kitty to spend quiet evenings with! Loretta is a very sweet girl that deserves to have a loving home of her own. Description

Lori and Tracey’s loving guardian passed away and unfortunately did not have provisions set up for her kitties. They lived by themselves in the sunroom of the home, and neighbors came by to feed them every few days but they were very lonely. When the house was finally foreclosed and the cats had to be removed, someone contacted us to see if we could take Lori and Tracey in. We did not want to see them go to animal control and thank goodness space was available!
Lori and Tracey are two darling girls that are also very sweet and loving. They crave attention and love for people to pet them and talk to them. They would make a wonderful addition to most families. Since they are so bonded, they must go home together. Once we learn more about them, we will give updates!

Description

Olive and Madison are two darling sisters who lost their home when their elderly parents could no longer care for them due to health issues.  They have been through a lot of changes in their life and are a little nervous, but I think once they get into a new stable home, they will be just perfect. They have been through a couple of moves and there were dogs in their last home that chased them, and they did not like that. Now they are at the shelter, which is another big change. But they seem to be doing OK and they are enjoying all the attention they are getting from the volunteers. They love people and like it when we pet them.
Their previous parents said they liked to sleep with them and one of their favorite things to do is lay on top of them and see them smile. They even liked to help with the chores and wanted to help wash dishes!  Now I can’t get my own cats to do anything around the house so it sure would be nice to have a couple cats willing to help wash dishes!
Olive is a very vocal kitty and has a lot to say! She likes attention and loves to be held and cuddled and kissed. Madison is also very social and loves to sit in people’s laps and cuddle. Both girls are petite and just precious!
Olive and Madison are two very special kitties that are looking for a special home. If you would like to provide them with that home, come to the shelter and ask for Olive and Madison!

Description

Meryl and some of her friends came to Good Mews from a shelter in Alabama. That shelter was shut down and some of their former volunteers contacted us and asked if we would be willing to take in some of their cats. They had 80 cats to place and were struggling to find placement or homes for all of them.  We feel it is important that all rescues need to work together so we were more than happy to help them.  We went to pick up the kitties and they did very well on their long trip back to Good Mews. Now we have promised all of them that we will find them a wonderful new home to call their own.

Meryl is a very beautiful girl with striking green eyes. She is very friendly and playful and loves attention. She would make a wonderful companion. She hasn’t let all the changes in her life get her down and she is ready to get on with her life and join a nice family. Once we learn more about Meryl we will give updates!

Update-Meryl is a very sweet girl that would really benefit from a forever home. Meryl is a bit on the overweight side and being in a home, her new family can help her maintain her weight. At the shelter we have to keep food out at all times so it is hard to keep Meryl on a diet. It is not healthy for cats to be overweight and we worry about Meryl.
Meryl has a playful side to her and enjoys running around the shelter and loves toys and the feather wand. She also loves Kitty DVD and gets very engrossed in the squirrels and birds! I bet she would love to have a window to sit and watch the real thing! So if you are looking for a sweet kitty to sit on the couch with you and watch TV and just hang out, and also have someone to play with, then please come meet Meryl. She would love to go home with you!

MVP
I'm a savvy cat who knows the score. I'm pretty unflappable, too. I don't mind entertaining myself, but a human companion at the other end of the couch and a nice scratch behind the ears always make my day. If you're looking for a resourceful addition to your team, think about signing this Most Valuable Pussycat.

Party Animal
I'm a cat on a mission: PARTY! I love to play and explore and test my limits. I'd love to play with you, but I can make a toy out of anything: pencils, post-it notes, potatoes. If you're looking for some laughs and someone to liven up the party, think about inviting me.

Leader of the Band
I'm a cat who does everything in a big way. I not only like to be in the middle of things--I like to lead the parade. I'm an adventurous cat, but I'll still make plenty of time to show you my affectionate side. I'm the demonstrative type, you might say. Want a cat who's brimming with confidence? That's me.

Personal Assistant

The Executive
I have to say, I'm a busy cat. First, I've got to check out what's happening out the window. Next, I'll see if any closets or cupboards need looking into. And then there are my naps--can't be late for those. I can fit a little socializing into my schedule. Shall we plan on breakfast and dinner? I hope you like kibbles.

Sidekick
Like all sidekicks, I'm just plain good company. I like attention, and I also like my solitude. I don't go looking for trouble, but I'm no scaredy-cat, either. If you are looking for a steady companion to travel with you on the road of life, look no further.

Personal Assistant
You're working on the computer? Let me press the keys. Reading the paper? I'll hold the pages down for you. Watching TV? I'll just plop in your lap so you can pet me. I love an orderly household, don't you? I'll help you with all your chores, and I'll help you relax when we're done. You'll wonder how you ever managed without me.

Love Bug

Private Investigator
I'm working undercover to keep an eye on you and your household. You may not even know you're under surveillance. I can vanish into thin air if anyone or anything interferes with my investigation. If you need a cat who knows how to stay out of trouble and will always keep your secrets, I just might take your case.

Secret Admirer
When it comes to relationships, I'm very level-headed. I don't leap in paws first, if you know what I mean. But give me a little time, and then I'll shower you with purrs, head-butts, and plenty of lap time. In the meantime, you may not see a lot of me, but I'll be thinking a lot of you!

Love Bug
Do you seek affection? I do! If you also like petting, purrs, and paws kneading your lap, I think we might have a LOT in common. I'm looking for "someone who enjoys quiet times and togetherness." Could that someone be you?
