A very loving kitty once she is comfortable with you. She loves to be petted and held, even on her back like a baby, and can be quite a talker. She is easily startled by loud noises. Chloe would probably do best as an only cat or with just one other in the household, even though she will be skittish in new surroundings, because she also wants to be the dominant kitty. She will be an excellent companion for her adopter because she loves nothing more than to be with you.

Christopher is a very sweet boy that was found as a stray in a neighborhood. A volunteer noticed he was missing part of his back leg, and to make matters worse, some other neighborhood strays were beating him up! She couldn’t stand to see this happening to him, so she asked if he could come to Good Mews. She took care of him until space was available, and now Christopher is at the shelter, waiting for his new forever home!
Christopher is a very nice boy who is also very affectionate. When you approach him, he will talk and talk, asking for attention. And having only 3 legs does not slow him down! Animals with 3 legs get around just as well as animals with 4 legs! Christopher is so happy to finally give up the life of living outdoors and to be safe indoors where he gets regular meals and a comfy bed to sleep in. Now to make his life complete, all he needs is a loving family.
—————————————————————
Christopher is FIV+, but don’t let that scare you! He is a sweetheart of a kitty and would love to have a home where someone will love him forever.
FIV+ cats can live long and healthy lives. They can also live safely with FIV-negative cats. FIV is spread through severe bite wounds, so it is important that your kitties get along.
Christopher would do great as an only kitty, or with another laid back cat.
To learn more about FIV, please read our two articles under the Advice tab on our home page.
A gengerous donor has paid for Christopher’s adoption fee!!

The “Berries” had a rough start in life. They were living on their own with no human contact, which is very important for small kittens. If they are not socialized when they are very young, it can take them awhile before they start to trust humans. We rescued this adorable bunch and placed them in foster care so they could be socialized. They made great progress and are now at the shelter, where they can be exposed to more people and hopefully find their forever home. They will need a very patient adopter who is willing to work with them and give them all the time they need. Once they feel safe in their home, all the work will be well worth it.
Cranberry is very shy but will let you pet him and he will not complain. He really likes it, but he isn’t going to tell you that! This sweet boy would love a forever home with someone that will spend time with him and help him come out of his shell.

Dewberry is the curious one of the bunch and doesn’t really engage in play, but likes to watch from the sidelines. She is still learning and would love a home where she can have some playmates to teach her how to be a kitten.

Good Mews found out about a situation where someone had over 50 cats living in stacked cages in a dark shed. They had one light bulb for light. Some of these kitties had been living in these conditions for about 3 years. Obviously this is no way for any living being to live. We were able to assist with some of the cats, and a couple other groups were also able to help.
Most of these cats have never been socialized and only knew one person: the person who kept them in the cages. They lived in fear and always wondered what was going to happen to them.
Dooley and Misfit lived together in a cage and it is obvious they are brothers. They both have adorable chubby faces. They are still a little nervous about what is going on, but I can tell these boys will learn to trust much quicker than some of their friends. They are fine with being petted and held and Misfit will roll over for belly-rubs. They are going to need a patient adopter until they get used to living like a normal cat, but I have no doubt they will do just great.
Dooley and Misfit must be adopted together.

Dr. Pepper and his friends were living in a home with over 200 cats. I am sure you can imagine what kind of conditions they were living in. Luckily animal control stepped in and saved them. Many were rescued or adopted, and there were several that had to stay at animal control for a few months until more rescues could help. We recently rescued several cats from 2 other hoarding cases, but we made room for a few more from this case. These cats have such sweet personalities that a few got adopted right away.
Dr. Pepper is hoping he will have the same luck as some of his friends and find a loving home soon as well. He is a curious boy that likes to walk around the shelter, checking everything out. He is very friendly and welcomes all the pets he can get. He would make a wonderful companion because he is very laid back and gets along great with other cats. So if you are looking for a quiet boy to join your family, come by and meet Dr. Pepper!

Abner and Ella are two very sweet cats but very shy right now because they don’t understand what is happening to them. They have been through so much lately so right now they are a bit scared.
Abner and Ella’s loving guardian had a stroke and had to go into an assisted living. They were very bonded with her and she loved her kitties very much. The family took the cats in, but they have dogs and Abner and Ella are very afraid of dogs, so they stayed hidden in the closet! The daughter contacted Good Mews and asked if we could help. We couldn’t stand to think of poor Abner and Ella living in a closet, in fear, so we agreed to take them in. So it is understandable why these babies are so scared right now. They lost their loving home and have been bounced around from one scary place to another! They are probably wondering what will happen next! Well, we are hoping a new loving home will happen next.
Abner and Ella will appear very shy when you meet them, but they enjoy it when you pet them. I strongly feel once they go to their new forever home and start to feel safe and loved again, they will come out of their shell and be very loving kitties. They just need a chance. Please come meet this pair soon.
A home with no dogs would be best for them.
Abner and Ella must be adopted together.
Both are front declawed.

Beautiful Audrey was abandoned in a cat colony in an empty Kroger
parking lot in Kentucky. One day she just appeared under the bushes
where the colony feeding stations were. For several weeks, she would
just meow and meow and then one day she decided that she was ready to
jump in the caretaker’s car and hitch a ride out of that place on her
lap! The caretaker was very relieved to get her home just in time for
Thanksgiving. Audrey and her caretaker turned foster mom were both
quite thankful indeed!
Audrey is just as elegant and stunning as her movie star namesake! And
she is just as sweet too. Audrey simply wants her own person to love
her forever. She settled right into her foster home without fear or
worry. And she is amazingly calm and well behaved during vet visits.
Audrey is definitely a lap cat and her favorite place to be is on
someone’s chest. She will place her paws right on your chest and tuck
her head under your chin. She can’t be bothered with toys….she
prefers people to anything else! Audrey loves her perches and beds by
the window, but she has no desire to ever be back outside again.
This precious little lady would be happiest as the queen of the house.
She tolerates her multiple kitty roommates, but she would prefer to
have her person all to herself….or share with one other kitty.
Audrey is simply a purrfectly wonderful, loving girl and we can’t
imagine how anyone could have parted with her!!
