Description
Fiaca and Noelle are two beautiful petite girls that were abandoned along with their siblings. All of their siblings have since been adopted, but Fiaca and Noelle are over-looked on adoption days because they are very shy. Since they were abandoned, we do not know their history, but my guess is something scary must have happened to them. We are hoping one day they will learn to trust us, but it is going to take a lot of time and patience.
These sweet girls are extremely bonded and are often found curled up in a bed together. It is rare to see one without the other. So we would never dream of separating them.
There are times when an adopter comes through our door looking for a “hard to adopt” cat because they want to give a cat a home that does not have the same chance as the more adoptable cats. Right now we feel that is the type of person that will have to adopt Fiaca and Noelle, because they are so shy.
We always hear back from these adopters and the stories they tell us about these “hard to adopt” cats are wonderful! Whether these cats come around in 1 month or 1 year, they do come around! And I truly believe Fiaca and Noelle are no exception, if given the chance. They have already made great progress since coming to the shelter, and I know once in a quiet home, with the right family, they will blossom to be lovely girls!
**Update** Fiaca and Noelle are in a special room so volunteers can work with them and show them that people aren’t so bad! And it is working. They enjoy us petting them and we brush them and they purr and purr and Noelle even leaned towards me and gave me a kiss. So I know once in a quiet home, these girls will come around and be wonderful companions. They just need a chance.

Firecracker and his friends are our rescued kitties from Pennsylvania. The ASPCA contacted us and asked if we would be willing to assist in taking in some cats that were rescued from a sanctuary there. We said of course we could help!
The ASPCA and the Elk County Humane Society in PA rescued nearly 400 cats from the sanctuary. The cats were found living in deplorable conditions on the first floor of a two-story building outside of Pittsburg. Several people assisted in the care of the cats and over 50 were transported to Georgia. Good Mews was able to take in 12. On the 4th of July we went to pick up our cats at the Atlanta Humane Society and brought them to their temporary home until permanent loving homes can be found.
You would think after everything these kitties have been through they would be weary of humans, but they are the sweetest angels you will ever meet. They purr when you pet them; some will even hug you. They were so excited when we placed them in their intake cages and they saw their comfy bed and food and water, they were purring up a storm!
We are so thrilled and honored to be able to help these cats and can’t wait to learn more about their personalities. They have been through so much in their lives and they deserve a loving home. We can’t wait to find those homes for them. But until then, we are going to enjoy having them with us. Please come by and meet them!
We will give updates as we learn more about them!
Update-Firecracker is just like her name…a little firecracker! She is full of energy and just a fun little girl! She is shy in new environments, but once she gets comfortable, you can’t slow this girl down! She is also affectionate and will roll on her back for belly-rubs! She loves other kitties and likes to wrestle and run around with them. Once she tires outs (if that is possible!) she likes to snuggle with them.
Firecracker does have some eye issues that will need some attention in the future. Please come meet this little wiggle worm soon! She would love to have a nice home!

My name is Fluffy and my story started out a bit sad but now has really turned around. See, my family moved and left me behind in the garage with just a bowl of food and water. Luckily for me, a neighbor rescued me after hearing me in the garage and Good Mews was able to take me.
I lived at Good Mews for awhile but I did not do well with so many other cats..I wanted all the attention! So I moved to the Cat Clinic of North Georgia and am now the office cat! But I would still love to have my own special home. Come by and see me soon!

Update-Frances is such a sweetheart! She loves people and attention and enjoys being petted and cuddled. She is very active and loves toys. When she was first released into the shelter I gave her some toys and she went crazy! She was so excited she just played and played. Frances also likes to dance! I will place her in front of me on my lap and we will do a little jig and she loves it! Frances is a great cat and anyone would be lucky to have her join their family.

ADOPTED!!
Gypsy and Cinder were abandoned and Good Mews was able to take them in. As it turned out, Gypsy and Cinder did not like humans at all!!! And I don’t mean they just hissed at us and told us to go away. We could not even touch them, much less look at them! But we were not about to give up on these beautiful cats. They were worthy of a loving home, and we were going to provide that for them, no matter how long it took. So we called in a troop of experts and they dedicated their time working with them. It took awhile, but Gypsy and Cinder finally decided we weren’t so bad. They were moved to their own special room for a couple months so more volunteers could socialize with them and all the hard work paid off. These cats love people and love attention! Now they are seen out in the main shelter, playing with the other cats and seeking attention from the volunteers and visitors on adoption days.
As you can see, Gypsy is a very handsome boy and he also has a wonderful personality. He would do best in a home with another cat or two to play with. We would prefer that he does not go home to a family with dogs.
Come meet these amazing cats soon!

Description
Hannah and some of her friends came to Good Mews from a shelter in Alabama. That shelter was shut down and some of their former volunteers contacted us and asked if we would be willing to take in some of their cats. They had 80 cats to place and were struggling to find placement or homes for all of them. We feel it is important that all rescues need to work together so we were more than happy to help them. We went to pick up the kitties and they did very well on their long trip back to Good Mews. Now we have promised all of them that we will find them a wonderful new home to call their own.
Hannah is a very sweet girl, but is still a little unsure of her situation. She has gone through a lot of changes in the past few months so she is still warming up to us. I know once she starts to feel more comfortable, she will come around. She is a beautiful girl and deserves to have a nice family of her own. Once we learn more about Hannah, we will give updates!
Update-Hannah is really coming around and enjoys people. She likes attention and loves for people to pet her. She is a very cute, petite girl! She is very playful and is often seen zooming around the shelter. Hannah also adores other kitties and is often seem cuddling and grooming with them. Come meet her soon. I know she is longing for a new home to call her own.
