Hannah and some of her friends came to Good Mews from a shelter in Alabama. That shelter was shut down and some of their former volunteers contacted us and asked if we would be willing to take in some of their cats. They had 80 cats to place and were struggling to find placement or homes for all of them. We feel it is important that all rescues need to work together so we were more than happy to help them. We went to pick up the kitties and they did very well on their long trip back to Good Mews. Now we have promised all of them that we will find them a wonderful new home to call their own.
Hannah is a very sweet girl, but is still a little unsure of her situation. She has gone through a lot of changes in the past few months so she is still warming up to us. I know once she starts to feel more comfortable, she will come around. She is a beautiful girl and deserves to have a nice family of her own. Once we learn more about Hannah, we will give updates!
Update-Hannah is really coming around and enjoys people. She likes attention and loves for people to pet her. She is a very cute, petite girl! Hannah also adores other kitties and is often seem cuddling and grooming with Jeret or Bode. Come meet her soon. I know she is longing for a new home to call her own.

As you can see Isabella is a gorgeous cat, but she has a lot of quirks and will require a very special adopter! She was returned after 5 years because her person wanted to travel and did not have the time that Isabella deserved. When Isabella came back to the shelter, she was very upset. She does not adjust well to change so we had to give her the space she needed until she calmed down. She does not get along with other cats, so she moved into her own special office! At times Isabella can be very loving and will crawl up in your lap to snuggle, but when she has had enough, she will let you know!
So whoever adopts Isabella will need to be very patient and let her adjust on her own terms. But we feel she is worth it. She may have her quirks, but that is what makes her so special and unique!
Isabella would love to have her own special person again, in her own home where she can explore, or be lazy and watch the birds out the window. If you think Isabella is the type of girl you are looking for, please come by and meet her!

Jeret is such a nice, quiet cat. I think in his past life he was a baker, because this sweetheart loves to make biscuits! As soon as you start petting Jeret, he starts making biscuits! He wants nothing more than for someone to love him. He likes it when people pet him and talk gently to him. He doesn’t ask for much..just love. So if you are looking for a quiet kitty to join your family, please come meet Jeret. I am sure he would be so happy to go home with you.

When Creighton and Liberty were kittens, they were found by 2 young boys in a wall of a deserted building. They asked Good Mews if we could take them in, and we found room for them. The mother and boys came to visit Creighton and Liberty often and were very much in love with them. They eventually ended up adopting them.
They lived with their loving family for 3 years, then because of the economy, hard times fell on them and they made the difficult decision to return the 2 cats. This absolutely broke their hearts but they wanted the best for the kitties, which is a new home where they can be taken care of.
Of course, Creighton and Liberty are very confused as to why they are back at Good Mews. We explained to them that they did nothing wrong, and that their family loved them so much, they made the decision to let them go to a place that will take care of them until they find their forever home. Hopefully they will one day understand.
Creighton and Liberty are very bonded and must be adopted together.. Creighton is more outgoing than Liberty , and she is very protective over her brother. Both are very sweet, affectionate cats that are longing for a new home to call their own. If you are looking for two loving cats to join your family, please come meet these two beauties.

ADOPTED!!
Lindsey and some of her friends came to Good Mews from a shelter in Alabama.
Lindsey is a darling girl that is a bit on the shy side. But who can blame her? She has been bounced around a lot in the past few months and she is ready to settle down in one place and relax! I think once she gets into a nice home with someone to shower her with affection, she will come out of her shell. Once we learn more about Lindsey, we will give updates!
Update: Well, Lindsey is starting to come out of her shell! She is now starting to feel safe with us and enjoys all the attention she gets! This sweetheart loves for us to pet her and she will roll over for belly rubs! I think Lindsey will make a wonderful addition to most families. She is a total love-bug!

Lucy and Linus were abandoned at a vet’s office. If we had to guess, perhaps their family could no longer care for them and thought it would be best to abandon them somewhere safe. But since they can not tell us the real story we will never know. They lived at the vet’s office and when space was available, Good Mews said they could come to the shelter so we could help find them a new home.
Lucy and Linus are a very bonded pair that must stay together. Lucy is a little more outgoing than Linus, and he is very dependent on her. Linus is shy and feels more comfortable when Lucy is around. They really are a darling pair. We will often see them cuddled up together, grooming each other or just napping, with their arms wrapped around each other. I don’t think there is anything sweeter than a pair of cats that love each other. If you are looking for a quiet pair, please come meet Linus and Lucy!

Max came from Animal Control and went into a temporary foster home until rescue could be found. That is where he met his best friend Neil. They became fast buddies and Max looked out for Neil because Neil is deaf. When Good Mews took in Neil, Max was left without his buddy! That really depressed him so he totally stopped eating. He just did not want to go on without his new buddy Neil. The foster home was very concerned about Max so they called Good Mews to see if we could take him as well. As it turned out, Neil was upset as well, so we rushed over and picked up Max. When the 2 boys saw each other, they were so happy. They rubbed on each other and kissed. There was not a dry eye in the shelter! So there is no way we will separate these 2 buddies again…a best friend only comes along once in a life-time.
Max is a beautiful boy with a big heart. If you are looking for 2 loving boys that will be the perfect family members, these are your guys!
