Daisy is a sleek beautiful black kitty that is looking forward to her forever home. She was a great mother to her darling 4 kittens and now she is ready to relax in a home with her new family. Daisy and her 4 babies were abandoned on someone’s front porch, in a large plastic bin. The family was not able to keep them so they contacted Good Mews and thankfully space was available for this darling family.
Daisy is a laid back girl that always wants to be around her favorite person and snuggle up beside them. She loves the company of people and enjoys one-on-one attention. She also does well with children. Daisy would make a great addition to most families. She is a quiet girl that loves to be petted and talked to. She just wants a home where someone will love and cherish her forever. If you think Daisy is the girl for you, come and meet this sweetheart!

ADOPTED WITH SAMY!!
Daniel Boone and his friends are from a shelter in Kentucky. The ASPCA was in Pike County helping with the recent flooding and many people and pets lost their homes. They contacted us and asked if we would be willing to help with some of the cats. We said we would be happy to help so we drove to Kentucky and picked up our new residents! They did a wonderful job on their six hour trip home and we are excited to have them. They are all wonderful kitties and they are looking forward to their new lives in Georgia!
Daniel Boone was a little unsure about his situation and was wondering why he had to sit in the back seat of the car on his trip back to Georgia and he was being pretty vocal about it. So to make him feel better, I put his carrier on my lap; I instantly fell in love. Now, I don’t normally fall in love so quickly, but Daniel is a real charmer. He has a special way of looking at you that will melt your heart. He has beautiful eyes and a darling face, and he demands attention. You can’t help but to fall in love with him. Once we got back to the shelter I spent some more time with him and he enjoyed being held and cuddled. He loves people and attention and has a lot of confidence. He is very playful and full of energy! Daniel was also a biscuit maker in his past life because this boy can sure make some biscuits! I think Daniel is just perfect! Come meet him soon, I don’t think he will be with us long.

Dolly and her friends are our rescued kitties from Pennsylvania. The ASPCA contacted us and asked if we would be willing to assist in taking in some cats that were rescued from a sanctuary there. We said of course we could help!
The ASPCA and the Elk County Humane Society in PA rescued nearly 400 cats from the sanctuary. The cats were found living in deplorable conditions on the first floor of a two-story building outside of Pittsburg. Several people assisted in the care of the cats and over 50 were transported to Georgia. Good Mews was able to take in 12. On the 4th of July we went to pick up our cats at the Atlanta Humane Society and brought them to their temporary home until permanent loving homes can be found.
You would think after everything these kitties have been through they would be weary of humans, but they are the sweetest angels you will ever meet. They purr when you pet them; some will even hug you. They were so excited when we placed them in their intake cages and they saw their comfy bed and food and water, they were purring up a storm!
We are so thrilled and honored to be able to help these cats and can’t wait to learn more about their personalities. They have been through so much in their lives and they deserve a loving home. We can’t wait to find those homes for them. But until then, we are going to enjoy having them with us. Please come by and meet them!
We will give updates as we learn more about them!
Update-Dolly is a beautiful calico girl that loves people and really wants a home to call her own. She is always approaching people asking for attention. I know Dolly would make a wonderful companion for someone. She gets along fine with other cats, but I think she would do well as an only kitty. I get the feeling she is craving her own special person to call her own. Please come meet her soon.

Description
Ed and friends lost their home when their guardian had to leave town for a very long extended period of time and he did not have anyone to care for them. He was very sad to have to re-home his cats and we could see how painful it was for him, so we agreed to help. It is always hard to have to leave your furry friends behind but sometimes you have to make decisions that are in the best interest of the cats, and that is what he did. We promised him they were safe with us and we would provide them with all the love and care that he did until new homes could be found.
Right now they are scared and confused and do not understand where they are, which is always the case with cats that come from loving homes. This behavior is nothing new to us and we are prepared. We are going to do all we can to make them feel loved and secure and give them a lot of attention and in no time they will start to feel better. They will soon realize Good Mews is a fun place, not a scary place!
Just by petting and sitting with them, I know they are sweet cats. They are beautiful kitties and I am looking forward to learning more about them. Once I do, I will give updates!
Ed and Ralph are very handsome boys that look like twins! Ed is a little shyer than Ralph but both are friendly kitties that enjoy being petted and kissed. I really like these guys. They appear to really love each other so they are seeking a home together.

ADOPTED WITH MOLLY!!
Emmy and Molly came to Good Mews because their dad was deployed to his third tour in Iraq. He contacted us and asked for our help. He provided them with a very good home and he wanted to make sure they found a new home and trusted that we would do that for him. We promised we would.
He describes Molly as very outgoing and a big talker with whom you can always carry on a conversation with. She is fond of having her chest rubbed while cradled in your arms. She is also very playful.
Emmy is a little more quiet but a total lap cat that likes to suck her toes! She likes to follow you around the kitchen, and then lie at your feet and purr.
They both love to eat and enjoy dry and canned food. One of their favorite treats is lettuce!
They are both loving kitties that enjoy people and get along great with children. They would make a wonderful addition to most families. Please come meet these darling sisters soon. They are required to go home together.

Felice is a very charming girl that loves people and a nice lap to sit on. So if you are looking for a lap cat, then Felice is your girl! Poor Felice was returned to Good Mews at no fault of her own. She does not understand why she lost her home, and is now living with so many cats! But a beautiful girl like her, I don’t think she will be here long. I bet she would love to sit with you after a long day of work and watch you read or listen to how your day went. As long as she knows she is in her forever home and will be loved for the rest of her life!
Felice would do great as an only cat or with one or two other cats and she also gets along with dogs.

Nutmeg came to Good Mews in January of 2007, and immediately took to hiding in cat trees, especially on busy adoption days. However, she has come a long way in overcoming her shyness. The Kitty Buddies (Good Mews volunteers who help shy cats get used to people) have really made a positive difference in Nutmeg’s life. She finally feels confident enough to venture out into the shelter, and on quiet days can now often be found in the main room instead of off in a corner. Nutmeg will need a quiet home and lots of love and patience to help her adjust, but will surely reward you with her faithful companionship! Come and meet her!
As always, we will be open every Saturday from 10am-4pm.
Starting in 2010, we will be open the 2nd ,3rd, and 4th Sunday of the month from 1pm-4pm.
